Rooting Families in Hope
Empowering Montana churches to support vulnerable children and families in crisis
We believe Montana churches are called to care for vulnerable children in their own communities.
Since Rooted Families began serving Montana, we’ve been pursuing one ambitious vision: ensuring every vulnerable child in Big Sky Country has access to a safe, loving family and supportive community. Thanks to our partnership with dedicated churches, we’re making measurable progress.
Through proven training methods and practical resources, we’re equipping Montana churches to transform their compassion into lasting impact—supporting the 2,200 children who enter our state’s child welfare system each year and the families who care for them.

Proven Training That Works
You don’t have to figure this out alone.
Many Montana churches want to care for vulnerable children but don’t know where to start. We provide step-by-step training, practical resources, and ongoing coaching that take the guesswork out of launching a Family Advocacy Ministry. Our approach has equipped 101 churches across Montana, helping them serve 1,655+ children since 2021.
Sustainable Support, Not Short-Term Programs
We’re in this for the long haul—and we’ll help you be, too.
Caring for vulnerable children requires sustained community support. We don’t just help you launch a Family Advocacy Ministry—we walk alongside your church through regular coaching, resource updates, and connection with a statewide network. Together, we’ve generated over $740,000 in economic impact for Montana families since 2021.
Serving Native American Children
Native American children are significantly overrepresented in Montana’s foster care system—a crisis that demands urgent action. Rooted Families is addressing this disparity through culturally responsive partnerships with Child Bridge, DPHHS, the Director of Indian Affairs, and Tribal leaders. If your church serves Native American communities in Montana or surrounding states, we have specialized resources and training available to equip you for this important work. Connect with our Native Outreach Director to learn more.
